Frequently asked questions

Before we begin.

We trade diamonds between Antwerp and Dubai. What should our agreements cover?

Typical points include title, delivery, consignment terms, payment, insurance and documentation. Trading in precious goods also involves compliance checks, so prepare for those early.

A UAE buyer has not paid for goods we delivered. What can we do?

Start by gathering the contract, invoices, delivery evidence and correspondence. We can then discuss proportionate options, from a structured demand to negotiation or formal proceedings.

Can I start the conversation from Belgium?

Yes. Use the enquiry form to introduce yourself, the people or businesses involved and what you want to achieve, wherever you are in Belgium or the UAE. Keep it brief and avoid confidential documents until an engagement is agreed. An enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship.

Do you advise on the law of Belgium?

Our practice is based in Dubai. Where your matter also involves the law of Belgium, we will say so early and discuss coordinating with appropriately qualified advisers there.
