Your plans in Dubai. A clear way forward.

Rahman & Company is a Dubai-based law firm. We work with clients from Myanmar who want commercially focused, plain-spoken legal counsel for decisions in the UAE, whether you are already here or planning your first step from abroad.

Every conversation starts with your objectives, the people and businesses involved and your timing. The appropriate scope of support is discussed and agreed before any engagement begins.

Questions we often discuss with clients from Myanmar

  • Reviewing a UAE employment offer or contract
  • End-of-service, termination and workplace disputes
  • Tenancy agreements, deposits and property purchases
  • Wills and family arrangements for UAE residents
A note on cross-border compliance
Matters connected with Myanmar may involve international sanctions, export-control or banking-compliance requirements. We review these before agreeing any engagement and may be unable to assist with some matters.

Frequently asked questions

Before we begin.

I have a job offer in Dubai. Can you review the contract?

Yes. We can review the offer and contract with you, explain key terms such as probation, notice and end-of-service, and flag points worth raising with the employer before you sign.

Do sanctions affect whether you can act for me?

They can. Before agreeing any engagement we carry out appropriate checks on the parties and the transaction, and some matters may fall outside what we can accept. Raise any concerns openly at the start.

Can I start the conversation from Myanmar?

Yes. Use the enquiry form to introduce yourself, the people or businesses involved and what you want to achieve, wherever you are in Myanmar or the UAE. Keep it brief and avoid confidential documents until an engagement is agreed. An enquiry does not create a lawyer-client relationship.

Do you advise on the law of Myanmar?

Our practice is based in Dubai. Where your matter also involves the law of Myanmar, we will say so early and discuss coordinating with appropriately qualified advisers there.
